Adarsh Shiksha Samiti
colloquially known as “Adarsh,” stands as a non-profit, non-governmental organization
adarsh shiksha samiti
germinated from the collective efforts of impassioned volunteers in the Salumber Block of Udaipur District, situated in the State of Rajasthan.
Its formal inception materialized in 1989, culminating in official registration under the Rajasthan Society’s Registration Act (1958). Subsequently, the organization earned recognition under various legal frameworks, including the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1976 (FCRA 1976), 80G, 12A, CSR1, and NITI Aayog.
Over the years, Adarsh has meticulously constructed a platform that serves as a catalyst for addressing a spectrum of issues pertaining to the well-being of the tribal population. The organization has emerged as a formidable force, effectively engaging with the government and various development agencies operating in the region to seek solutions and advocate for the welfare of the marginalized communities.
The overarching vision of Adarsh is to foster the creation of an equitable and just society where vulnerable and marginalized segments actively participate in their own social development, ultimately exerting control over local resources. To actualize this mission, Adarsh embarked on a multi-faceted strategy, commencing with the initiation of awareness programs on diverse social and economic issues. This initial phase sought to dispel the haze of lethargy, ignorance, and resistance to abandoning impractical traditions.
Having successfully cleared the path of inertia and cultural resistance, Adarsh transitioned into implementing socio-economic development programs. Collaborating with both governmental bodies and prominent non-governmental organizations, Adarsh strategically designed and executed initiatives aimed at uplifting communities and addressing the complex challenges faced by the tribal population.

Community-Centric Approach
1. Participatory Engagement: The Watershed Program embodies a participatory and community-centric approach. By involving community members in the repair and deepening processes, the program fosters a sense of ownership and collective responsibility.
2. Sustainable Impact: The program’s emphasis on repairing and optimizing existing wells aligns with the principles of sustainability. Rather than creating new structures, the initiative leverages and enhances the community’s existing water infrastructure.
